Welcome to Ridgeview Middle School
 Home of the Wolfpack!

April 3, 2018

Dear students, parents and guardians:

I hope that everyone had a great Easter vacation. As of right now, our present last day of school is Friday, June 1st. The rest of the SOL testing begins in May.

Below are some of our upcoming plans:
Report cards are scheduled to go home tomorrow, April 4th.
Spring pictures are scheduled for this Friday, April 6th.

The Junior Beta Club is sponsoring a fundraiser for St. Jude this month, with a Pajama day on Monday, April 9th, and a hat day on Friday, April 27th for those students who want to participate.

Mrs. Phyllis Mullins’ civics classes are sponsoring a food and supply drive for the Brother Wolf no-kill animal shelter in Clintwood from Tuesday, April 10th through Tuesday, April 24th. Anyone who would like to donate wet and/or dry puppy and kitten chow, puppy pads, cat litter, trash bags, Clorox wipes, bleach, paper towels, bedding, treats and dog/cat toys, can send those items to Mrs. Mullins’s class.

The 6th grade students are scheduled to go to Barter Theatre next Friday, April 13th.

Club meetings are scheduled for Friday, April 20th.

This is middle school baseball and softball season, so several games have been scheduled. Weather permitting, the following home games are scheduled as follows: tomorrow, April 4th, baseball game with Central; Monday, April 9th, softball game with Central; Thursday, April 12th, softball game with Grundy; and Monday, April 23rd, softball game with Union.

“I Can Day” is scheduled for Friday, April 20th. In case of inclement weather, the make-up date is Monday, April 23rd.

The second annual eighth grade Health Expo is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17th at Ridgeview Middle School. Students who have expressed an interest in the health field will have an opportunity to attend.

A band concert is presently scheduled for Thursday, May 3rd, at 6:30 in the auditorium.

New Peoples Bank is proud to offer its customers a Visa Check Card that can be customized with a picture of the account holder’s school logo or mascot that have been approved for use by each school. They also offer their account holder the option of placing the logo on their checks. What does this mean for our school? A $10.00 donation will be made to the student’s school of choice for every new students account (often referred to as our “KEWL Account”—Keep Earning While Learning). Also, if the customer uses the school’s logo on their checks, New Peoples Bank will donate half of the profit made on these check each year back to our school (for students ages 13—23).

With sincere thanks,

 John R. Whitner
