IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
For students who do not have Internet:

  • In order to be counted present, work has to be completed and returned for each day’s assignment.
  • Any day that does not have work completed and turned in will result in an absence for that day.
  • Flash drives and packets which are picked up one week are to be turned in the following week. Attendance will be documented each week based on the work turned in from the previous week.
  • Beginning the week of January 18th, flash drives and packet pick up and drop off days will be on Fridays instead of Wednesdays. The food distribution will also be moved to that day.

Student Attendance

Going to school every day is the single  most important part of your child's education.  Students learn new things at school every day.  Missing school puts your child behind.

Dickenson County Public Schools wants all of our students to get a great education.  The building blocks for that great education begins with students coming to school each and every day.

Parents and guardians are required to ensure their child attends school and to provide an explanation for their child's absence from school, and the principal must record in writing the reason given by the parent. The principal must be able to determine from the records if the excuse given was reasonable in terms of the parent meeting their legal obligations.

Please call your child's school or view the Student Attendance Policy for more information.
