Dear students, parents and guardians:
It has been a busy month. The first week of March was Read Across America week, with our students having different dress up opportunities that week. Ridgeview Middle School has also started the March Madness Attendance month with the homerooms competing against the other homerooms. Each week, homerooms who have at least 90% attendance for the week will receive prizes. Last week, there were 20 homerooms who had 90% or higher attendance rates. The homeroom with the highest attendance for the week will move on to the next round, with the final winner receiving the grand prize.
Below are a few of the upcoming events in March. All scheduled events are subject to the weather.
The 5th grade and 8th grade SOL writing test is scheduled for tomorrow, March 17th . Those students are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep in preparation for the test. If school is on a delay, present plans are to have the main SOL testing on the next full day of classes.
The end of the third nine weeks was last Friday, March 13th . Report cards are scheduled to go home Wednesday, March 18 th .
A PTO meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th at 4:00 in room 119 at RMS.
The middle school softball team is scheduled to play home games with Lebanon on Wednesday, March 18th , and Lee on Friday, March 27th .
A lockdown drill is scheduled for one day during the week of March 23rd . A lockdown drill involves securing all interior and exterior doors and windows within a building, ensuring all staff and students are sheltered within a safe room until an all-clear message is received. The purpose of the practice drill is to better prepare our students and staff for certain emergency situations while minimizing panic.
