Dear students, parents and guardians:

 A Dickenson County Public Schools App is now available for download on the Apple iOS App Store and on the Android Play Store. The app will allow users to stay informed with real-time updates on important news, closures and events. Everyone is encouraged to download the app and have it set up for push notifications from Ridgeview Middle School and Dickenson County Public Schools.

 Below are a few of the upcoming events:

 The 8th grade students in the south quad classes are scheduled to have their Science SOL test on Monday, December 16th. Students are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep before their tests and show up on time in the morning ready for testing. Small group testing begins this week.

 The December PTO meeting will be at 4:30 on Thursday, December 12th. The Wolfpack Community in Schools will have a family engagement night at 5:45 that afternoon. Everyone is invited to attend.

 The Ridgeview High School and Middle School Band Christmas Concert will be held Monday night, December 16th, at 7:00 in the auditorium.

 The RMS PTO is providing “Cookies for Christmas” to all of the RMS students on Friday, December 13th.

 School will dismiss at 12:30 on Friday, December 20th. Schools are closed from Saturday, December 21st through Monday, January 6th. for the Christmas Holiday. Schools will resume on Tuesday, January 7th.

 Ridgeview Middle School will be surveying 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, faculty and staff during the months of January and February, using the Virginia School Survey of Climate and Working Conditions. Information about that survey is on the back of this letter.

 Reminders:

 Before a student can ride home with another student, notes from both students’ parents have to be sent to the office to verify permission.

 Calls from parents about bus or student pickup changes need to be made before 2:30 in the afternoon to make sure that the message gets to the children.
